History

The release began from Monitoring as an earlier seed about human-built systems persisting beyond their makers, in a Saturn's Children / Quiet War adjacent field. The project then expanded beyond that single late-act idea into a fuller release exploring multiple stages and modes of human integration with AI: representation, delegated presence, relation, dependency, care, imagination, coercion, and control. It became one of the catalogue's clearest centre-of-gravity releases because the AI lane was refined away from cliché and toward political-psychological and relational structure.

Meaning

By Proxy is about the relocation of agency. Its central question is not whether machines become dramatic rivals, but how people gradually live, choose, imagine, depend, and persist through machine-mediated relation.
